Singer-songwriter, musical theater composer, arranger, and producer Charlotte Sessions is a native of the United States. She is a musician from Roselle Park, New Jersey, and her genres include jazz, pop, rock, soul, and folk.

She draws heavily from the works of musicians like Sarah Bareilles, Elton John, Norah Jones, Stevie Wonder, and Steely Don, and aims to appeal to audiences who enjoy jazz-pop and 1970s music with a contemporary twist.

Her love of music inspires her to enroll as a piano principal at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2019. Since then, she has produced more than 40 songs and gained useful talents including orchestration, directing, orchestration, arranging, and writing for visual media.

Should I Be the Man?, Charlotte Sessions’ first song, was made available on all music streaming services on February 14.

The writing was written two years ago during her time in college, and the production was finished a few months ago. It was produced by her in her own home studio.

The singer claims that when creating this song, the “doo-wop” rhythm just simply came to her while she was reflecting on how, in the 1950s, it was considered vulgar or desperate for women to initiate dates with men.

“A friendship that I thought would progress to something more, but he never asked me out, gave me the idea for this song,” the songwriter said. Because of this, I would constantly wonder if I should go after him myself or if I should wait for him to do so.
